Draga & Aurel have officially made landfall in the United States and are proud to announce the beginning of their partnership with Todd Merrill Studio. The prestigious New York gallery of art and collectible design represents an international group of established and emerging artists, each with a singular artistic vision and unprecedented point of view.

The collaboration will officially get underway in November, when the gallery presents several revised items from Draga & Aurel’s Transparency Matters collection – Joy Circle, Maree, Golia, and Jade – together with a selection of artworks by Aurel K. Basedow, at the two most important events in the USA for the collectable design industry, Salon Art + Design in New York City (10th-14th November 2022) and Design Miami (30th November – 4th December 2022).

“We couldn’t have imagined a better partner for our debut in the United States. Todd Merrill is an international icon in collectible design, who we’ve always greatly admired. When he visited our studio this year while staying in Como for the Lake Como Design Festival, a strong understanding arose, along with a desire to embark on a journey together to highlight our peculiarities as artists and designers. We are already working on several new projects designed exclusively for the gallery, in which hand-crafted resin will once again play a leading role, with an approach centered on new forms and large sizes”, said Draga Obradovic and Aurel K. Basedow, the founders of Draga & Aurel.

“I had seen some of Draga & Aurel’s works online but I was taken aback by the incredible artistry of the paintings and sophistication of the colors when I finally admired them in person in their Como workshop”, said Todd Merrill, art dealer and founder of Todd Merrill Studio.
